George Fox University Certified as a 2026 Best Christian Workplace
February 23, 2026
NEWBERG, Ore. — George Fox University is certified as a “Best Christian Workplace,” one of just 10 higher education institutions in the last two years to receive that designation. This recognition, awarded by the non-profit Best Christian Workplaces, honors organizations that demonstrate intentional leadership and a commitment to cultivating a healthy, flourishing workplace culture marked by high employee engagement. In 2025, just nine higher education institutions received certification. Of the 62 institutions that participated in the review process in the last five years, just 34% received certification.
The certification places George Fox University within a worldwide movement of churches, schools, and Christian-owned businesses that set a higher standard for workplace excellence. This distinction reflects the university’s ongoing effort to lead, serve, and care for one another in a manner that reflects the character of God.
"We are humbled and energized to be certified as a Best Christian Workplace," said Nichole Drew, vice president of people and culture. "This milestone represents our commitment to prioritizing and pursuing a flourishing employee culture. Our greatest asset has always been our people, and this achievement reflects the intentional care we invest in our employees so they are equipped and inspired to impact our Christ-centered culture and the students we serve."
George Fox employees shared feedback through an anonymous employee engagement survey of more than 50 questions. The survey evaluates eight key factors of a flourishing workplace: Fantastic Teams, Life-Giving Work, Outstanding Talent, Uplifting Growth, Rewarding Compensation, Inspirational Leadership, Sustainable Strategy, and Healthy Communication.
Best Christian Workplaces is an organization dedicated to equipping and inspiring Christian leaders to build flourishing workplaces. Through research-based health assessments and coaching, they help organizations worldwide achieve a higher standard of effectiveness and employee engagement.
