George Fox University Combines Homecoming and Family Weekend into Single Fall Celebration
September 30, 2026
Three-day event invites students, families, and alumni to campus Oct. 9-11 to launch a new cross-generational tradition
NEWBERG, Ore. – For the first time in university history, George Fox University will combine two of its largest annual campus gatherings into a single celebration with its inaugural Homecoming & Family Weekend, scheduled for Oct. 9-11. The new tradition invites alumni, students, families and friends to gather on the Newberg campus to honor the university’s Christ-centered community and cross-generational legacy.
By blending classic homecoming traditions with family-focused programming, the weekend offers something for every generation – giving alumni a chance to reconnect, students a stage to share their college experience, and families an authentic look at the George Fox community. Highlights include Saturday morning’s "Bear Claws with Baker" gathering with President Robin Baker, milestone class reunions (2016, 2006, and 1996), and receptions for psychology and honors program alumni.
Guests can honor Bruin athletic legends at Friday’s Hall of Fame ceremony, experience the pregame energy at Saturday’s Bruinpalooza tailgate, and cheer on the football team against Whitworth University. Spiritual life and fellowship remain at the heart of the weekend, featuring a Friday concert, Saturday chapel service, Sunday Community Hymn Sing, and shared meals from Friday’s Bruin Favorites Dinner to Sunday’s Travel Day Brunch.
More information on the weekend is available at homecoming.georgefox.edu.
While the registration window has closed, guests are still invited to attend the weekend’s events. In-person registration check-in will be set up on the first floor of Stevens Center on Friday, Oct.9, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m.
