Sophia Davies

Name: Sophia Davies

High School: Estacada High School (Estacada, Oregon)

Sport(s): Volleyball

Position(s): Outside hitter and defensive specialist

Height / Weight: 5-8

High School Highlights:
Named first-team all-league (Class 4A Tri-Valley League) as a senior and was a second-team all-leaguer as a junior; served as team captain in 2016 and 2017 and was named her team’s MVP as a senior; led team in hitting percentage and best serve receive passing her final season; recorded 259 kills and 267 digs her senior year while also collecting 28 blocks and 42 aces

Why I chose George Fox:
I have known since my freshman year in high school that I wanted to be part of the George Fox community. The faith-based environment, the students, the coursework and athletics are a perfect fit for me!

Earned second-team all-league and second-team all-state (Class 2A) honors in 2017; played in Idaho All-Star Game her senior year

Earned team’s Scholar-Athlete Award all four years of high school and was voted the team’s Most Versatile Player her sophomore and senior years

Why I chose George Fox:
As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew this was where I wanted to go. I love the volleyball coach! I love how she can be a great Christian mentor to me, and I'm excited to be coached by her. Everyone I met seemed friendly, showing just how happy they were to be working here. I wanted to go to a Christian-based school with a strong sense of community. George Fox’s education program has a great reputation, and I wanted to be a part of it.

Name: Sadie Wilson

High School: Griswold High School (Helix, Oregon)

Position(s): Middle blocker and right-side hitter

High School Highlights:
Earned first-team all-league (Class 1A Old Oregon League) as a senior, when she recorded 298 kills, 60 aces and 71 blocks; also earned first-team all-tournament and honorable mention all-state recognition as a senior; was a first-team all-tournament and first-team all-league player as a junior; named her team’s MVP her junior and senior seasons

Why I chose George Fox:
From my first visit to George Fox, I immediately felt at home on campus. Fox is well-known for its academics, athletics and growing their students' faith. I couldn't imagine another place to be spending my next four years!
