I joined the Department of Biology and Chemistry as a visiting assistant professor of biology in 2014. Beginning in 2008, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Knight Cardiovascular Institute at Oregon Health & Science University, where I worked to characterize the molecular and biochemical basis of inherited heart diseases.
I have instructed the biochemistry classes as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Chemistry at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore., (2011) and as a teaching assistant in the School of Molecular Biosciences at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., (2004-2006). I also taught middle and high school science and math at Grace Christian School in Anchorage, Alaska (1998-2002).
