Communication Arts

Professor Richard EngnellWelcome to the Department of Communication Arts, which features an interdisciplinary approach to communication. Majors take a series of integrated courses in speech communication, journalism, and media - all grounded in a common core of communication and rhetorical theory and communication. Students can earn bachelor of arts (BA) degrees in:

Campus Activities

The department maintains an active chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national speech honor society. Additionally, a speech and debate team competes in regional and national tournaments and performs on campus and in local churches.


Career Opportunities

Communication graduates work in careers such as marketing, ministry, law, mediation, management, event coordination, journalism, editing, sales, politics, personnel, and teaching.
