Welcome to the Department of Communication Arts, which features an interdisciplinary approach to communication. Majors take a series of integrated courses in speech communication, journalism, and media - all grounded in a common core of communication and rhetorical theory and communication. Students can earn bachelor of arts (BA) degrees in:

• Communication Arts
• Cinema & Media Communication
• Organizational Communication

The communication department includes communication arts, video production, foreign languages (including Spanish, French, and Japanese), and English as a second language.

Campus Activities

The department maintains an active chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national speech honor society. Additionally, a speech and debate team competes in regional and national tournaments and performs on campus and in local churches.

Career Opportunities

Communication graduates work in careers such as marketing, ministry, law, mediation, management, event coordination, journalism, editing, sales, politics, personnel, and teaching.
