The Oregon Writing Project Collaborative at George Fox and the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University welcome student writers.

We invite students, grades 6 – 8, to join us for a week of learning and writing about art in the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.  Participants will explore various types of art within the museum and learn ways of “seeing” art, writing description and critique, learning the role of a docent, and writing expressively in response to art.

Dates are July 10 – 14 from 10:00 to 12:30 each day.  The Young Writers Camp will culminate in a hosted reception, from noon to 1:00 pm on Friday, where students will share their writing and take their families and friends on free, guided tours of the museum.

The cost of the Camp is $80 with an “early registration” rate of $70 for students who register by May 1. Registration information will be located on the Oregon Writing Project Collaborative at George Fox University website at http://www.georgefox.edu/oregon-writing-project/Young_Writers/index.html  For more information please contact Karen Bezanson at kbezanson@georgefox.edu.
