Debunking Myths of the Nonprofit World
These two statements are a few of the common myths that are perpetuated in regards to nonprofit organizations (NPOs). Unfortunately, there are many more myths, as noted below1. Before I address the above myths, I want to clarify that the legal definition of a nonprofit is any organization the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has granted tax exemption status under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code2. A significant number of employers and organizations qualify (e.g. industries such as government, education, social service, medical, art, environment), and they are seeking to employ our talented students and graduates. April 2007
From the Executive Director
In our April 2 chapel, the student body honored Dave and Melva Brandt for their service to George Fox University over the past nine years. The program was a touching time of memories, photos, jokes, laughter, and tears. It was obvious from the interaction that Dave and Melva love the students, and that they are loved in return. More...
From the Parent Council

God's Faithfulness
by Brad Lau
"The central reality for Christians is the personal, unalterable, persevering commitment God makes to us. Perseverance is not the result of our determination; it is the result of God's faithfulness." These poignant words written by Eugene Peterson in his book A Long Obedience in the Same Direction are a wonderful reminder that God is faithful to George Fox University. More...

SENIOR PARENTS
First Reunion
Traditional graduating seniors and their families are invited to a special program on Friday, April 27 at 6 p.m. The program, hosted by the alumni association, is named First Reunion because it's the first time these new "alumni" will gather to recount college memories and enjoy each other's company as they will during future college reunions. The evening will include a message from our retiring president, David Brandt, as well as messages from several graduates and professors. Special music and the senior slide show will round out the program. Following the program, all who pre-purchase tickets are invited to the Paris-themed dinner in Klages dining room. It's a great time for families to celebrate together. Tickets are secured by mailing the formal response card with a check to George Fox University, or by registering online. For additional information, contact the Office of University Relations at 503-554-2131.
