The events of the past week seem far away when the weather in Oregon is sunny and warm. What we know comes by way of the various news media with pictures that seem impossible. We are a nation that prides itself in responding quickly to human need, whether in our country or elsewhere. This week we seem not to have done very well. Welcome to George Fox University's first parent e-newsletter for the 2005-06 academic year! You can expect to receive an e-newsletter each month of the academic year, September through April. School is starting! What a great time to get involved!
The 2005-06 academic year is here! This is exciting in many ways. You may be sending your first child off to college or you may have a senior starting his or her final year. Watching our students go to college at George Fox University is a special time for the entire family. We know they are being sent to a place where they will learn academically. More importantly, they learn that who they are is a gift from God and what they make of themselves is their gift back to God. As parents, we have the privilege of knowing that Christian professors surround our sons and daughters, teaching them how to apply academics with a Christian worldview. More...
