Are there service opportunities for students?

Yes! Faith is a verb at George Fox, and serving is part of our mission. There are many ways to get involved. Opportunities include Serve Day, local and international serve trips, and much more.

What is Serve Day?

Every year, campus closes and more than 2,000 students, employees, and alumni serve the community. Service projects range from painting murals to weeding yards and deep cleaning nonprofits.

Can I connect with campus pastors?

Yes! Whether it’s one-on-one time or hanging out in the Spiritual Life office, our campus pastors are eager to connect with you!

Will my academic experience be compromised by faith?

Never. Faith and science go hand in hand. Philosophy and Christian theology go together. Grace is critical to the practices of social work and counseling.

Can I join a small group?

Absolutely! We call them Life Groups and they meet for 6-9 weeks each semester. Life groups are led by faculty and staff. They’re a time for prayer, building community, and studying the Word.

Will I find a church family in Newberg?

Yes! There are more than 30 churches of all different languages and cultures in the Newberg area. Fun fact: Every year George Fox hosts a Church Connection Fair to help students find a church home.

Do you have Young Life at George Fox?

We do! Young Life meets weekly and is an approachable place to talk about faith, ask questions and find community.

Are there spiritual formation opportunities for student-athletes too?

Yes! In addition to the opportunities for the whole student body, student athletes can join the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) club and seek mentorship from graduates through The Bridge Network.
