Sean Campbell joined the College of Business as an assistant professor of business in 2025. He arrived with more than 20 years of B2B technology experience, including leadership roles spanning research and strategy. He continues to serve as CEO of Cascade Insights, where for more than two decades he has directed strategic research initiatives for Fortune 500 technology leaders and delivered training and mentoring programs for Fortune 100, 500, and mid-market B2B organizations.

Prior to founding Cascade Insights, Campbell cofounded, scaled, and sold 3 Leaf Solutions, a B2B technology consulting firm focused on technology training, technology marketing, and market intelligence for the technology sector over six years. His career began with technical instruction roles at Metamor (1997-98) and the ARIS Corporation (1998-2000), where he became a certified network engineer, certified database developer, certified database administrator, and certified developer on Microsoft technologies while developing his foundation in technology education.

Campbell's primary areas of expertise include B2B market dynamics, B2B marketing, B2B sales, technology adoption by B2B organizations, and artificial intelligence. He has coauthored three books: two for Microsoft Press and one for Intel Press on technical subjects, as well as a self-published book on competitive intelligence research.

He earned a master's degree in communication from Purdue University in 1995 and a bachelor's degree in the same discipline from Loyola University Chicago in 1993. Campbell lives in Oregon City with his wife Kim and their two adult sons, Josh and Ryan.

When he's not teaching or consulting, he can be found enjoying his two favorite water-based hobbies: skiing on the mountain (typically at Timberline Lodge) or on the Willamette river, where he's either fishing for smallmouth bass, shad or salmon, depending on the time of year.
