D. Shawn Hussey is an Associate Professor of Business and MBA Program Director at George Fox University's College of Business, where he joined the faculty in 2023. With over 15 years of teaching and academic leadership experience, Hussey brings a distinctive blend of applied data intelligence, strategic management, and organizational leadership to both the classroom and scholarly research.

Hussey's expertise sits at the intersection of applied AI, data analytics, and business strategy. He has taught courses in Data Analytics and designed curriculum in Marketing & Analytics, Applied Business Statistics, and Statistical Methods - equipping students to harness data-driven decision-making across business functions. His current research examines how generative AI literacy shapes coworker trust in the workplace, applying a Social Exchange Theory lens. He has also presented on the use of AI and prompt engineering to transform MBA program delivery, reflecting his commitment to integrating emerging technologies into management education.

Prior to George Fox, Hussey served as Associate Professor and Non-Traditional Business Programs Chair at LeTourneau University in Texas (2022–2023), and held multiple academic leadership roles at Corban University in Salem, Oregon (2011–2022), including Associate Professor, Interim Dean, Director of Online Undergraduate Business Programs, and Director of Innovation Initiatives. His academic work is grounded in the realities of industry: he has served as a business consultant, Lead Internal Change Management Consultant at IBM, and held roles in financial services and compliance across multiple sectors.

Hussey earned his PhD in Organization & Management - Leadership from Capella University (2012), an MBA in Finance from Capella (2005), and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Corban University (2003). He is a Distinguished Graduate of both the USAF Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base and Basic Financial Officer School, and continues to serve as an officer in the Oregon Air National Guard, currently as an Innovation Officer with the 173rd Fighter Wing - a role that directly informs his applied research in organizational strategy and emerging technology adoption.

Outside the classroom, Hussey is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a distance runner, and a duathlete competitor.
