Jacob Johnson, MBA

The College of Business welcomed alumnus Jacob Johnson as a visiting assistant professor of business in 2026. He arrived with more than 20 years of finance experience in the technology sector, working in analytical and managerial roles.

Most recently, he served as the director of financial planning and analysis for Donnelley Financial Solutions (2022-24), a provider of innovative, software and technology-enabled financial regulatory and compliance solutions for a wide range of companies. Before that, he was a sales planning manager II (2017-22), sales planning manager I (2013-17) and senior sales analyst (2011-13) at Synopsys, an engineering solutions company that specializes in producing industry-leading silicon design, IP and simulation and analysis solutions.

Johnson’s areas of expertise include quota planning, long-term revenue forecasting, and creating ad-hoc solutions in Excel. He earned an MBA, with an emphasis in finance, from Portland State University in 2008, and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from George Fox (2003).

He lives in Sherwood with wife Gina and son James. The family attends Sherwood Friends. Jacob enjoys connecting with humans, time with family, and walking around in the wilderness.
