Admission Requirements

Application
Verified application through NursingCAS
Upon approval by Oregon State Board of Nursing, the application cycle should open in August 2026, and the application deadline will be January 2027 for those intending to begin in fall 2027.
Applications must be verified in NursingCAS by the application deadline.

Degree

GPA
- Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher in their last 60 credits of nursing courses.
- Applicants must have completed a course in statistics with a B or better. Students can retake this course if they had a grade of C or lower, but they must complete it (with at least a B) by the application deadline.

RN License
Applicants for all DNP specialties must have a current, unencumbered Oregon license as a registered professional nurse.
Proof of Oregon RN license is required by application deadline.

References
Applicants must submit a total of two references from professional colleagues: one from a supervisor and one from a peer. -
Transcripts
- Applicants must submit transcripts from all post-secondary education institutions.
- All transcripts must be verified by NursingCAS within two weeks of the application deadline. There are no exceptions.

Experience
- Applicants must have completed at least one year of full-time (or equivalent) employment as a nurse.

Certifications
- Applicants must have earned and maintained a BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

CV
- Applicants must submit their CV (PDF format preferred).
Apply Online with NursingCAS
George Fox uses NursingCAS (Nursing Centralized Application Service) to receive applications. Simply add George Fox University under the Add Program tab of your NursingCAS Application.

Once Your Application is Complete
If you’re offered admission, a $1,000 non-refundable enrollment deposit is required to secure your spot in the program.
