If you are entitled to the Post 9/11 GI Bill® with 100% rating, the 2024-25 tuition cap for a private institution is $28,937.09. The 2023-24 tuition cap for a private institution was $27,120.05.

Yellow Ribbon Program

If you are receiving the Post-9/11 GI Bill® at the 100% rate, you may be eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Under the program, if your tuition exceeds the national tuition cap for a private institution of higher learning as posted by the Veterans Administration (VA), additional funds may be available for your education program without an additional charge to your entitlement (VA criteria must be met).

George Fox does not have an application form for the Yellow Ribbon Program. If you are eligible, you will be identified internally and evaluated by the VA certifying official. Funds will then be posted directly to your student account through the financial aid process. George Fox does not have a cap on the number of students that may be awarded Yellow Ribbon. Once awarded Yellow Ribbon, the VA will provide matching funds.

For more information, visit the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Yellow Ribbon webpage.

Yellow Ribbon students may be awarded up to:

  • Traditional Undergraduate: $3,000
  • Adult Degree Program: $3,000
  • Graduate:
    • Masters: $1,000
    • Doctoral: $1,000

VA Book Stipend and Housing Allowance

As a veteran, you may qualify for a VA book stipend as well as a housing allowance. To find out your status, enter your information on the GI Bill® Comparison Tool. Once you’ve done so, you will get a general idea of the amount you will receive for these benefits.

Please be aware that these payments come from the VA, after your George Fox certifying official has certified your classes following the class add/drop date. George Fox does not receive the funds for these benefits; they are sent straight to the student from the VA. Any issues regarding the benefit payments, therefore, need to be handled directly through the VA.
