National championships

George Fox Intercollegiate Sports

We are one of only three Northwest Conference schools to win multiple national team championships at the D-III level. Most recently, our women's track and field team won the 2018 national championship. In 2009, our women’s basketball team went a perfect 32-0 and capped the year by becoming the first school west of the Rocky Mountains to win a D-III national title in basketball. Five years before, in 2004, our baseball team claimed a national championship.

We've also enjoyed success in track and field. In fact, between 2011 and 2013 we won individual NCAA titles each year, with Irene Johnson (100-meter hurdles, 2011), Alexis Arnold (heptathlon, 2012) and Beth Stam (javelin, 2013) claiming D-III championships in their respective events. We added two more national titles in 2017, as Seth Nonnenmacher (javelin) won a national outdoor title and Rachael Kraske (60-meter hurdles) won at indoor nationals. In 2018, we claimed two more individual national championships with Seth Nonnenmacher (javelin) and Sarah King, Kennedy Taube, Sara Turner, and Lis Larsen with the 4x100 relay.

Beyond the Games - The Impact of Athletics at George Fox

Be part of a winning team. We’ve won multiple district or conference titles in the last decade, and more than 350 of our athletes have earned All-American and All-American Scholar-Athlete honors.

But we believe the impact of athletics extends well beyond the field of play, and can last a lifetime. Watch this video to see how participating in sports has changed our athletes’ lives for the better.
