Peter Evans

Peter Evans joined the advancement office as an assistant director of advancement operations in 2026. Previously, he spent five years in Germany working on and leading technical projects at both the University of Göttingen (2024-26) and the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony (2021-2024). Much of this work focused on managing and maintaining data, creating and optimizing pipelines, and integrating various technologies into new workflows.

Beyond this, Peter's career has been rather eclectic, spanning research and development administration at Educational Testing Service in New Jersey (2017-21), admissions at The Hun School of Princeton in New Jersey (2012-15), and bookstore management at Johnsen & Taylor Books and Gifts in Illinois (2010-12).

The son of missionaries, Peter spent more than 20 years abroad living in Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Cyprus, India and Germany. He earned a master’s degree in digital humanities from the University of Göttingen (2026), a master's degree in theology from Stellenbosch University (2014) and a bachelor’s degree in Bible and theology from Southeastern Bible College (2010).

He lives in Newberg with his wife Alyssa, who works at the university as an assistant professor of history and theology in the honors program, and their children Jude and James. He enjoys reading, cooking, a good cup of coffee, being out in nature with his kids, and talking theology.
