Shannon Johnson

Alumna Shannon Johnson joined the university as vice president of advancement in 2026. She arrived with more than a decade of advancement experience in Christian higher education, with a demonstrated record of growing philanthropic support, leading campaigns, and strengthening donor engagement.

Guided by a passion for building lasting relationships and expanding student access to education, Shannon most recently served as vice president for advancement at Corban University, guiding the advancement team through a period of remarkable philanthropic growth. Under her leadership, the university expanded its endowment, strengthened donor connections, and launched the silent phase of Corban’s "Faithful for the Future" campaign.

Previously, Shannon served at George Fox from 2015 to 2018, first as a gift officer and later as interim director of development. During that time, she helped complete a $14 million comprehensive campaign that exceeded its goal. Her advancement career has also included leadership positions at Warner Pacific University and Multnomah University.

She earned a master’s degree in counseling from George Fox in 2011 and a bachelor’s degree in English from Seattle Pacific University in 2000. She lives in Southwest Portland with her husband, Michael, and attends Eastside Imago Dei. Together, they are proud parents to Kilohana, Maliyah and Isaiah.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys good books, great coffee, and spending time on the sidelines watching their kids play sports or supporting Michael as he coaches both youth and high school football and basketball.
