Allen Jones, PhD
Associate Professor of AI Learning Integration,
George Fox Digital
Allen Jones joined the university as an associate professor for AI learning integration in 2026, working in the George Fox Digital program. He arrived after working as a visiting scholar at BibleProject, where he worked on biblical research for their Scholar Team (Psalms, The 10 Commandments, Holy Week) and content and AI integration in a cross-departmental capacity.
Previously, he was a professor of Old Testament and Hebrew Language at Corban University from 2012 to 2025. He also taught extensively as an adjunct faculty member and teaching tutor at a number of institutions for more than 25 years.
In addition, Jones is a scholar who has done extensive writing for publications and presentations on a wide range of topics, many of which focus on Old Testament texts and the application of the Bible in modern life. He's also served on the steering committee for the Exile (Forced Migrations) in Biblical Literature section with the Society of Biblical Literature.
Jones lives in Salem with his wife Amanda and their five children: Mabel, twins Beverly and Lynne, and twins Edward and Obadiah, and attends South Salem Friends Church. He enjoys spending time with Amanda and their kids, cycling, rafting, and engaging ideas outside his area of study.
