Molly Pierce

Molly Pierce joined the occupational therapy doctorate program as an assistant professor in 2026 after serving on an adjunct basis since the spring of that year. She arrived with more than 35 years of experience in the field, specializing in complex feeding and swallowing disorders, diagnostic assessments, and collaborative problem-solving, with certifications in sensory integration and neurodevelopmental therapy.

In addition to her work at George Fox, Pierce worked as an adjunct faculty member and graduate thesis advisor for Boston Architectural College, advising graduate students exploring the intersection of trauma-informed design, sensory spatial design, and pediatric health. She was also both an independent OT consultant and a school-based occupational therapist in the Eugene 4J School District for seven years, and from 1996 to 2019 she was a clinical pediatric OT and an adjunct faculty member at Oregon Health & Science University. She has also provided volunteer international clinical support and training in Nicaragua and Tanzania.

Pierce earned a master’s degree in arts management from the University of Oregon and an occupational therapy degree from the University of Puget Sound. She lives in Eugene with her husband, Dave, and has two adult children, Sophie and Ben. She is active in her home parish as coordinator for homebound ministry and provides teacher training through an OT lens for the Archdiocese of Portland’s Catholic schools.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, gardening, painting and cooking.
