Traditional undergraduate students at George Fox are encouraged to apply for donor-funded scholarships. Complete just one application for the opportunity to be matched with over 200 of these awards.

Donor-funded scholarships range from $500 to $15,000. Examples of criteria include, but are not limited to, background, academic major, financial need, career goals and grade level. Once on the donor-funded page, you’ll find detailed descriptions of scholarships and the requirements for each.

After submitting your application, you will see each scholarship that you were applied for.

Be entered into a drawing to win a $500 Early Bird Scholarship.

Donor-Funded Scholarship Essay

The donor-funded scholarship application includes a personal essay. You can pick from one of two essay prompts. Some scholarships require additional essays. Once you submit your primary application, you will be prompted to turn in the additional requirements, if necessary.

The essay questions for the 2023-24 donor-funded application are:

  1. Option 1: Describe an accomplishment, event or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. 
  2. Option 2: Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

Essays should be at least 300 words and no more than 1,200 words.

You must be a traditional undergraduate student intending to be enrolled full-time for the academic year in which you are applying.

Incoming students: You must be admitted and submit your enrollment deposit by March 1 to be considered.

Once your application is submitted, you will be able to see which specific scholarships you were applied to. 

Make sure to submit your application early as there may be additional scholarships with additional requirements available based on your submitted primary application. 

Yes! The application opens each year on Nov. 1st and is due by March 1st. That means you will have approximately four months to complete the application requirements. It doesn't have to be completed all at once either. Answers are automatically saved as you complete them and you can come back any time to work on the rest.

You should continue to apply for these scholarships every year. New scholarships are added each year and many are based on grade level so there may be new opportunities available to you every year.

Yes! We have over 200 individual scholarships available that range anywhere from $500 to $15,000 a year. 

Scholarship award notifications will be sent out in the beginning of April.
