The university offers a comprehensive benefits package that represents a significant component of George Fox employees' total compensation. Most benefits are available to all regular employees, half time and above; however, benefits are prorated for employees who work less than full time.

Benefit Open Enrollment 2/16-3/2

George Fox University strives to provide you and your family with a comprehensive and valuable benefits package. We want to make sure you’re getting the most out of our benefits—that’s why we’ve put together this Open Enrollment Guide.

During open enrollment, you can make changes in your benefit plans without a “change in status” reason. Any other time of the year you may only make changes for reasons such as adding or losing a dependent child, marriage, divorce, loss of other coverage, etc. Changes made during Open Enrollment will take effect April 1, 2018.


Dependent Verification Notice

As part of our effort to limit health care cost increases, after the 2018-19 open enrollment period ends, we will be conducting an audit to verify the coverage eligibility of dependents enrolled in our sponsored medical, dental and vision plans. The Pioneer Educators Health Trust and it’s participating schools have engaged an independent auditing firm, BMI Audit Services, LLC, to conduct the audit.

The audit review of your enrolled dependent(s) is not optional. It is our responsibility to ensure that only eligible dependents are enrolled in our plans. You will be required to reply to BMI with any verification requirements requested for your dependent(s) by or before the audit ends.

Unverified eligibility of your enrolled dependent will mean removal from coverage.

BMI is contractually and legally obligated to ensure that any documentation you provide remains confidential and private.


1095-C for Employees 
As part of Health Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements, George Fox will report to the IRS on the health insurance, if any, offered to employees. The Form 2017 1095-C will be delivered to campus boxes on 3/2/2018. This tax form includes information about the health insurance coverage offered to you and, if you were enrolled in the Pioneer Regence Medical Plan in 2017, your family. You may receive multiple tax forms if you worked for multiple employers in the previous calendar year or have Kaiser coverage through George Fox. If you would like to request that the form to be mailed to you, please email your request to Darby Thiessen at dthiessen@georgefox.edu.
