Selecting a Meal Plan


Changing a Meal Plan


  • Go to the Housing & Meal Plan Intent form and use your George Fox login
  • Click on Meal Plan on the menu bar, then click "Continue" on Academic Year: 2019-20
  • Select your Fall and Spring Meal Plans from the drop down menus and click "Save & Continue"
  • The next page is the Confirmation page
  • Access the Housing and Meal Plan Intent form and go to the meal plan page
  • Click on the blue circle titled "Meal Plan," which is left of "Meal Plan Confirmation"
  • You change your meal plans from the drop down menus
  • Be sure to click "Save & Continue" before exiting the form


Policies

  • Details about our policies can be found in the online Student Handbook on page 45.
  • No declining meal plan changes can be made after the end of the first week of classes of each semester.
  • Accommodations are not made for busy schedules. Boxed meals can be arranged through Bon Appetit.
  • Students living on-campus are required to be on a meal plan based on the number of completed credits earned. Transfer credits must be approved through the Registrar's Office.
  • Students who fail to confirm their meal plans, and if eligible, make any changes, will be charged for the meal plan applied to their account even if they did not use the meal plan.
  • For students needing medical accommodations to the meal plan, please complete the Meal Plan Accommodation Request form with required documentation and submit it to University Housing.
  • Meal Plan expectations for residential students are as follows:

Meal Plan Options 2019-20 - Cost per semester

20 meals per week: per semester, for students with 30 credits or less, though all students may participate. Includes 20 meals per week with three meal periods, Monday through Saturday, and two meal periods on Sunday, in the Canyon Commons dining hall.

14 meals per week: per semester, for students who have 31 credits or more, in the Canyon Commons dining hall.

10 meals per week + $180 flex points**: per semester, in the Canyon Commons dining hall, for students who have 31 credits or more.

10 meals per week: per semester, for students who have 62 credits or more, in the Canyon Commons dining hall.

7 meals per week plus $190 flex points**: per semester, in the Canyon Commons dining hall, for students who have 62 credits or more.

75 block plan plus $100 flex points**: per semester, for students who have 62 completed credits or more. Flex dollars can be used at any Bon Appetit dining facility while the block meals are restricted to Canyon Commons dining hall.

Please note: Block meals can be used for guests. May renew this meal plan multiple times throughout the year by emailing University Housing at housing@georgefox.edu

All Flex Plan*: per semester, for Commuters and students who have 62 completed credits or more.

Please Note: Points remaining on the card after fall semester are transferable to spring semester in the same academic year, but points left after spring semester will be forfeited. May renew this meal plan multiple times throughout the year by emailing University Housing at housing@georgefox.edu

No Meal Plan, for students living off-campus. Students approved to live off-campus may select any of the above meal plans, including the No Meal Plan.

*Flex Points may be used at any dining facility on the Newberg campus, including Canyon Commons Dining Hall, the Bridge Cafe, the Bruin Den, and Bruin Bites.

**All flex points are added per semester, and those left on the account after the end of each semester will be forfeited.


Fall 2019 Information

Students who fail to select their meal plan by Wednesday, July 31, 2019,  may be assigned the LOWEST meal plan that they are eligible for.

The final deadline for all declining meal plan changes will be Friday, August 30, 2019.

Canyon Commons Hours

ON-CAMPUS DINING FOR STUDENTS, FACULTY & STAFF OFFERED THROUGH BON APPETIT

    • Declining balance plan – bring your George Fox ID card in to the office along with cash, check or debit/credit card and we can load money directly on your ID card. We’ll add an additional 10% credit if you add $50 or more! This can be used in the main dining room, Bruin Den, Bruin Bites or Bridge cafeé.
    • Commuter VIP – our newest offering geared toward commuter students, for $80 you can purchase a punch card good for 12 meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner) in the Canyon Commons dining room.

Need to know the balance on your card?  Anyone at the Bruin's Den, Bruin Bites, Bridge Cafe or Canyon Commons can have a card reader give you an accounting of your balance.
