Ruth Holloran joined the Doctor of Physical Therapy program as an assistant professor in 2025. She arrived as a familiar face in George Fox PT circles, having served as a teaching assistant in the department the previous two years and as an adjunct professor in the fall of 2023. Also, in the 12 years prior, she supported regional DPT programs as a credentialed clinical instructor.
Her clinical experience includes working as a physical therapist at Brain Rehab Network in Portland, at Progressive Rehab Associates in Portland, and at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital. Outside the classroom, Holloran was a heart walk coach through the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association (2024-25) and the creator of the Reclaim Movement, a community dance workshop program for those with neurologic conditions (2023-25).
Her areas of expertise include traumatic brain injury, stroke, and vestibular disorders, and she earned her neurologic certification specialty in 2020. She earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in Minnesota (2009) and a bachelor’s degree in life science from the University of Portland (2005).
Holloran lives in Southwest Portland with her husband and three daughters, and attends Imago Dei Community Church. She enjoys trail running, hiking, backpacking, playing at the ocean, reading, and spending time with her family.
