Andrew del Rio

Andrew del Rio joined the university as assistant professor of philosophy in 2022. He taught previously for five years at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing as an instructor of philosophy of religion, ethics, epistemology, and the university’s Plan II Honors program.

Before teaching at Texas, del Rio was a teaching assistant for various philosophy classes both at Texas and Biola University. His teaching interests include philosophy of religion and apologetics, metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, logic, philosophy of science, philosophy of mind, aesthetics, and “Great Books.”

He lives in Newberg with his wife Stephani and their four children: Noah, Sophie, Molly and Ellis. Del Rio enjoys making music, renovating houses, visiting Miami (his hometown), camping, climbing and discussing deep, meaningful questions over a good cup of coffee. He also has deep admiration for frontier missionaries and Porsche 911s.
