Give Hope to Students Facing an Unexpected Financial Crisis

A parent loses a job. A family faces a medical crisis. An unexpected emergency drains savings. Suddenly, a junior or senior at George Fox faces an impossible choice: go into debt or drop out.

The vision of the Robin Baker Endurance Fund is to ensure that these students keep going.

Who This Helps

The Robin Baker Endurance Fund provides emergency financial aid to juniors and seniors facing sudden hardship:

  • First-generation students working multiple jobs to stay enrolled
  • Student-athletes balancing practice, classes and part-time work
  • Transfer students who've already overcome obstacles to get here
  • Any student who's proven their dedication but needs a bridge to finish

The Story Behind the Fund

Tim and Barbara Davis, George Fox parents, started the Robin Baker Endurance Fund because of Tim’s own college experience. When he faced a crisis his senior year that caused him to transfer from the university he loved, the college president helped him find a path forward – and charged him to pay it forward when he could.

For nearly 30 years, Tim has helped students complete their degrees. When his daughter visited George Fox, Tim met President Robin Baker. That conversation became a friendship – and inspired Tim to honor Robin's decades of faithful leadership by creating a fund that helps students finish strong.

When a student has put their heart into becoming something more and done all the things they need to, and then something happens in their family ... that's not their fault. Why should they be penalized?" — Tim Davis
