Moving from San Diego to the Pacific Northwest at age 11, my twin sister and I felt like we had landed in a truly magical place … with actual seasons and winter temperatures low enough to allow ice skating on the sidewalks! Since then, meandering outside in cool, rainy weather is my happy place, sustained by tea, and preferably followed by a merry feast, worthy of Ratty and Mole. Thus, I bring a love of exploration and hospitable space to my work and am excited to join the library team, as we engage students along the research trail.

What do you do at Fox?

As a research and instruction librarian, I collaborate with teaching faculty to support students throughout the research process via individual consultations and in-class instruction. I liaise with biology and biochemistry, clinical psychology, counseling, kinesiology, nursing (undergrad), psychology (undergrad) programs, but I am always happy to field research questions from other programs if your librarian is not available – especially for theology and other fields in the humanities.

Education and Experience

MLS, Emporia State University
BA, English, Concordia University
BS, Bible & Theology, Multnomah University

Before coming to Fox, I was honored to support undergraduate, graduate, and seminary researchers at Multnomah University and the Multnomah Campus of Jessup University. I have also worked as a barista, customer service rep, youth minister, and church musician.

Expertise and Research Interests

I am interested in libraries as "third places," disciplinary ecosystems, and library partnerships that promote learning and dialogue.

What is something you’d like to do in future?

Walk the Coast to Coast trail in the North of England!

Beyond the Library

I love to hike forest trails, create delicious meals, and host musical soirees.
