Interlibrary Loan (ILL) & Summit

Borrow materials from Pacific Northwest libraries via Summit, and from elsewhere via Interlibrary Loan.  The difference? You'll receive Summit items much faster.

What is Summit?

Summit is a free, fast borrowing service that allows you to request books, DVDs and other physical items from academic libraries in the Pacific Northwest. All George Fox students and employees can use it.

Summit materials will arrive much sooner than items requested via interlibrary loan, typically 1-3 days rather than up to two weeks.

Items can be checked out for up six weeks. However the specific checkout period is set by the lending library at time of shipment.  Most items can be renewed one time.

Note that you can return materials to any library in the Summit system.

What is interlibrary loan?

Interlibrary loan service is provided when George Fox University faculty, staff and currently-enrolled students need materials outside of  the collections of George Fox and our Summit partner institutions.

Books, journal articles and microfilm are provided for George Fox patrons from other libraries across the country.

ILL delivery time varies based on the ability of the lending institution to fill the request.  Typically items will arrive in 1-2 weeks, likely faster for electronic journal articles.
