Rebekkah Barnett, MSN-NE, RN-BC, OCN
Assistant Professor of Nursing
The College of Nursing welcomed Rebekkah Barnett as an assistant professor of nursing in 2026. She arrived with three years of teaching experience and nine years of professional experience working as a registered nurse in Oregon across both inpatient and outpatient hematology-oncology roles.
As an RN at the bedside she is an oncology-certified nurse, having worked in acute medical-surgical and intermediate level cancer care at Salem Health (2017-19 and 2023-26), as well as ambulatory infusion care at Oregon Health Science University (2019-23). Most recently, she worked as a full-time faculty member at Chemeketa Community College in Salem in the three and a half years leading up to her hiring.
Her areas of expertise include solid tumor and hematological disease, chemotherapy administration, oncology care coordination, and clinical education/precepting. She earned a master of science in nursing education degree from Fort Hays State University in Kansas in 2023 and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Linfield College in 2018.
She lives in Salem with her husband and son. Rebekkah enjoys spending time with her family, triathlon training, and working on needlepoint embroidery projects.
