Darren Flynt, MS

I serve as director of George Fox Digital's cybersecurity management program, joining the university in 2026 after working for 11 years as a CIO and chief information security officer in energy, government and manufacturing, while also teaching cybersecurity and AI to corporate teams. I am also a senior cybersecurity sales executive at ERGOS Technology Partners, and have taught IT management to MBA students at Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business.

In addition to my George Fox Digital role, I serve as a throws coach for the university's track and field program. I have run my own coaching business, Throwslogic, for more than 10 years.

Outside the Classroom

I grew up in Southern California and raised my family in Houston before moving to Oregon. I live in Dundee with my wife, Christy, and our son James. We also have three grown children – Amelia, Ian and Josephine. I attend Northwest Christian Church in Newberg and enjoy Bible study, time with family and friends, and deep dives into tech and athletic training.
