Pre-College Summer Programs

June 21-26, 2026

This project-based course in psychological science allows you to explore different areas of psychology through a research lens focused on developing research skills and scientific reasoning.

Following the scientific method, we will develop research questions based on your interests while exploring cognition, perception, development, personality, and social psychology. We then design studies to answer those research questions, collect and analyze the data, and create professional-style research posters. The course will be a fast-paced, active learning experience with a new project each day.

The cost for this program is $1,950 per student ($1650 for students from partner schools). This includes a week of immersive college-level courses taught by George Fox faculty, convenient on-campus lodging, three meals per day in the dining hall, and evening programming.

Professor of Psychology

Chris Koch, chair of the undergraduate psychology department at George Fox University, has been teaching at George Fox since 1993. He earned his graduate degrees in cognitive-experimental psychology from University of Georgia after completing his undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University. His expertise centers on attention and the Stroop effect, with additional research in visual perception, intelligence, and how individuals process competing visual, auditory, and cross-modal information through his Koch Cognition Lab. .
