Theatre
Grow as an artist, collaborator and person of faith as you work alongside professional and college artists to create theatre that uplifts, reshapes and renews the world around us. Built around creating a fully realized final performance, this week-long workshop and showcase will explore all the aspects that go into making a show.
Choose a focus in acting, directing or design/tech, and gain skills through hands-on instruction as you collaborate to create a final performance in just five days. Learn the skills, concepts and techniques required for excellent and thoughtful theatre making as you are coached through auditioning, scene work, technical design, directing and staging, and – at the end of the week – a final performance.
In this immersive week-long experience, you will learn how to:
- Craft a scene, finding emotional nuance, authenticity and precision
- Block or stage to support storytelling, voice projection, character analysis, etc.
- Build light cues and leverage color theory for costumes and script analysis
- Design a set, lights and/or costumes
- Collaborate to create a performance in just five days
Cost
The cost for this program is $1,950 per student ($1650 for students from partner schools). This includes a week of immersive college-level courses taught by George Fox faculty, convenient on-campus lodging, three meals per day in the dining hall, and evening programming.
