College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Equivalencies

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a nationally recognized standardized testing program through which university credit may be earned or course proficiency verified.

A maximum of 30 semester credits may be earned at George Fox University through examination or other non-classroom credit procedures. This includes all alternative credit opportunities. The equivalencies below are for our traditional undergraduate students.

Students can prepare for CLEP exams by taking free online courses from Modern States, a philanthropy dedicated to making a college degree more affordable and accessible for everyone. Modern States offers 32 free online courses that prepare learners for taking CLEP exams. Learners who complete a Modern States course and practice questions receive a voucher to cover the cost of a CLEP exam.

CLEP General Examinations

Testing through the CLEP general examinations is designed to verify competency in general education. These examinations are to be taken prior to the completion of the first semester of enrollment as a freshman at George Fox University, and may not be taken if student has already completed course or is registered past the add/drop deadline in an equivalent course.
