Emily Hervey

Emily Hervey joined the Graduate School of Clinical Psychology as an assistant professor of clinical psychology in 2026. A licensed clinical psychologist, she arrived from Wheaton College, where she was a visiting assistant professor in the institution’s clinical psychology doctoral program the previous two years.

Since 2015, she has worked as an international consultant and trainer for nonprofit organizations and pastors, including in the areas of psychological first aid, compassion fatigue prevention, self-care, and trauma response. She has developed an integrative program, The Tree of Life: Finding Healing and Growth in Jesus, to equip local leaders in trauma care.

Hervey also taught as an online adjunct associate professor for Regent University’s PhD in Counseling and Psychological Studies program for eight and a half years. Her areas of expertise include global mental health, trauma treatment, and spiritual integration.

She holds a doctor of clinical psychology degree (2012) and a master’s degree in clinical psychology (2009) from Regent University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Whitman College (2007). She lives in Newberg with her husband, Dean Mellerstig. Hervey enjoys traveling and exploring God’s creation.
