Legal Sex Designation Change

George Fox University requires students to use their legal sex in university data systems. George Fox University is required to collect this data in order to comply with federal reporting, including IPEDS reporting, student employment, international student status, and the granting of federal financial aid. Gender/gender identity are not currently recorded in the university’s data system.

Students can notify us of a legal sex designation change by submitting a Legal Sex Designation Change Form to the registrar’s office along with proper documentation displaying the legal sex – a copy of a court order, current passport, or proof from the Social Security Administration showing the new legal sex designation.

Upon verification, staff will update a student’s legal sex in the data system for use throughout the university. See the Academic Catalog for more information about George Fox’s legal sex policies.

Alumni questions or legal sex designation changes should be directed to the Office of Alumni Relations.

Employee questions or legal sex designation changes should be directed to the Office of People & Culture.
