What do I need to know?

  1. The special student application is due in the registrar's office before 5pm on Friday of the first week of the semester. See specific semester dates on the academic calendar.
  2. A special student registration form must be completed each semester you intend to enroll. List the class you would like to take, including the course section (example: ECON 201 C Principles of Microeconomics).
  3. Enrollment is on a space-available basis only. Any course pre-requisites must be met in order to be registered for the requested class. Your registration will typically be processed on the first day of the semester.
  4. All courses require professor and department chair permission to enroll. The registrar's office will contact the department for you once your application has been received.
  5. Courses in the following programs do not allow special student registration: Undergraduate: Art and Design (ARTS, ARTD, INTD), Graduate: Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.), Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), and some programs using the cohort model or requiring admission to the major.
  6. Graduates currently enrolled in another program at George Fox University are not eligible to use the alumni audit benefit.
  7. Employees of the university should refer to the Human Resources web page for information on tuition remission requirements, deadlines, and applications.
