The announcement that Concordia University would close came suddenly and as a surprise to many, including us here at George Fox. We know this must be hard for you, especially as you consider your future, and we'd like to help.

At George Fox, we’re equipped to help you finish what you started. We’ll do everything we can to make transferring to George Fox as easy as possible. We offer traditional undergraduate, adult degree completion and graduate programs that are compatible with your fields of study at Concordia. And we’re willing to work with you, one-on-one, to discuss your options and develop a plan.

Traditional Undergraduate

We offer more than 90 majors, minors and pre-professional programs, the William Penn Honors Program and 21 NCAA Division III varsity sports.

For students transferring from Concordia, we offer the following:

  • Application fees and essay requirements waived for Concordia students
  • 100 percent of Concordia credits accepted
  • $5,000 automatic grant for traditional undergraduates, renewable annually, on top of other aid available to Concordia transfer students. This means, depending on academic history, Concordia students will receive a minimum financial aid award of $12,000 to $16,000 per year. Even more aid can be awarded after we receive your FAFSA.

Adult Degree Completion Programs

Adult degree programs are accelerated bachelor's degree-completion programs specifically designed to fit the schedules of working adults.

We offer the following for Concordia transfers:

  • 100% of your Concordia credits will be accepted
  • Application fees are waived for Concordia students
  • An expedited application process has been set up for Concordia transfers
  • Up-front pricing
  • Credit for prior learning
  • Personal attention from enrollment counselors that continues to graduation

Our admissions counselors will work with you to evaluate how your credits transfer into similar George Fox programs, such as:

  • Management and Organizational Leadership (online or in-person)
  • Healthcare Administration (online or in-person)
  • Project Management (online or in-person)
  • Social and Behavioral Studies (online or in-person)
  • Elementary Education (in-person)
  • RN to BSN (Nursing) (online with face-to-face sessions once a month)

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

George Fox University's MAT program leads to Oregon PreK-12 preliminary teaching licensure in either multiple subjects for elementary school or a single subject for high school. Graduates are trained to work in public and private schools in Oregon as early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school teachers.

100% of Concordia credits applicable to the George Fox MAT program will transfer.

Master of Education (MEd) (online only)

George Fox University's Master of Education program is designed to fulfill the professional development needs of educators who specialize in different aspects of PreK-12 and higher education. The master’s program empowers educators by enhancing the personal development and professional teaching skills needed to guide students in today’s world.

100% of Concordia credits applicable to the George Fox MEd program will transfer.

Doctor of Education (EdD)

The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at George Fox University prepares scholar practitioners for P-12 and higher education settings. Our mission is to develop leaders with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to inspire, educate, and serve others effectively for the common good.

100% of Concordia course credits applicable to the George Fox EdD program will transfer.

Faculty will work with you to create an individualized course plan to complete your degree.

Education Endorsements & Certificates

George Fox University offers teaching endorsements in:

  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • Reading
  • Special Education (SPED)

Our Reading and ESOL endorsements are 100% online, while our Special Education endorsement is a hybrid of online and on-campus coursework.

100% of Concordia course credits applicable to the George Fox Endorsements & Certificates programs will transfer.

Administrative Licenses

George Fox University offers candidates the opportunity to earn two Oregon administrative licenses that prepare educators to serve in Oregon public and private schools as PreK-12 building or district-level administrators.

100% of Concordia course credits applicable to the George Fox license programs will transfer.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

An ethics-based curriculum with a global perspective designed to develop promising leaders and managers.

100% of Concordia credits will transfer to the George Fox MBA program. In addition, we will work with you to create a customized course plan to complete your degree.

International Students

We understand there are many questions about your future and that it may be a challenge to talk on the phone or write an email. We are here to help you. Our International Student Affairs Administrator will meet with you on the Concordia campus to give you advisement for your personal study program, I-20 transfer, and your future CPT and OPT options.
