Financial Aid Roadmap

At George Fox, we know an important factor in choosing a school can be cost. That is why we strive to make school as affordable as possible. When students explore what it will cost to attend George Fox, there is a real difference between the total cost of their education (tuition, living expenses, books, fees, etc.) and the amount they’re expected to pay. Financial aid (scholarships, grants, student employment, and loans) is meant to reduce the gap between the two.

We are here to help you through the financial aid process. To help you stay on track, here is our roadmap to understanding and utilizing financial aid:

Complete the FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available October 1 for the following academic year. You must submit the FAFSA each year in order to qualify for federal, state, and some institutional financial aid. A FAFSA needs to be filled out each year.

Important Note: The FAFSA calculates an Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is not what you will pay for college, but an “index” number used to determine your financial need.

  • Our Title IV Federal School Code is 003194.
Become a Future Bruin
Once you become fully admitted, the university will receive your FAFSA information and be able to produce your completed financial aid package. Contact the Admissions Office for help completing your application.
Review your Financial Aid Offer
Financial Aid Letters are mailed out after your Admissions acceptance letter. Congratulations on becoming a Bruin!
Accept/Decline Your Financial Aid
Once you’ve reviewed your financial aid offer, you will need to accept or decline your federal student employment and/or loans if you decide to take them. This can be done through your myGeorgeFox account on the “Accept/Decline Awards” page.
Check Your To-Do List
The Financial Aid office will inform you of what forms and documents are required via your myGeorgeFox To-Do List on the Tasks tile. Items are continuously added throughout the summer, so make sure to check your To-Do List frequently.
Complete Verification (if selected)
If you are selected, you will be required to provide specific verification documents. Your financial aid offer is an estimation until verification is complete. If any changes are necessary, we will send you an updated financial aid offer. Check your To-Do list on myGeorgeFox or contact your Financial Aid Counselor for details.
